spotting is all over the place. dorsal is super saturated with spots but the petals didn't get the memo. i have another s gratix (not yet bloomed) that's supposed to have black breeding so hopefully that one will have a more even coloration.

at least i know i'm doing something right in my brachy culture. blooming brachy is a happy paph, right? 😬

No, Brucher is asking the meaning of the name S.Gratrix or how it came about, not what the grex is made up of.
I'm curious to hear about it as many of these names have interesting stories.

Sorry, this was a classical misunderstanding.
But I had a look in Olaf's book and found on page 191....this hybrid was registered in 1898 and S. Gratrix was the name of the breeder.

Hi merc, your S Gratrix looks a lot like mine. Mine bloomed from middle October two months forward. Now another S Gratrix is making a flower. They would be perfect, if the flower stem would be just 3-5cm longer.
