This is the first of this cross to bloom for me. It is thaianum X vietnamense.

I agree. Overall good color and cute as can be!!
Only time will tell. It's why I rarely use vietnamense in breeding. I just couldn't resist trying the cross anyway.

Love it! I’m anxious to hear how long blooms last. I like to get 4 wks out of a bloom, after that I’m usually ready to remove a bloom and let the plant rest.
Interesting hybrid - new to me and a darn good flower! And one really gets the feeling of the glow from those smouldering gleams and sparks of the staminode!

Here's an updated picture. The original was taken two weeks ago when the flower had been open for about a week. We've since had a few days of 90+ degrees F. Which tends to be a little hard on flowers in the greenhouse. As you can see, the flower is beginning to fade a bit.
