I hadn't noticed it the first time, but when you look at the detailed photo of the center of the plant it appears to be a face with large ears, mouth open, pointy nose and eyes closed. Totally bizarre.

I'm not a super serious collector of Stapeliads, but I do have a small collection of species from several genera. This isn't a species that was on my radar, but it's one that I have to say fits my taste quite well. I love yellow flowers, starry shapes, and spots and stripes. Granted, the genus Orbea has some really great species and there are many standouts.
