interesting "something" on cahnhii

I got it one year ago. Established very well, now it is in bud with 3 new starting growths, but there is a little interesting thing in the pot...any idea???

Could be a seedling from pratically any plant in the area where this canhii plant came from.

Yes, it had a dried empty pod. But noo roots, it was potted in not origonal soil, but in lava rock+bark. How about fungi?

there might have been seed still in the pod that fell into your new mix and germinated (the timing and maturity would be right). Or seed got into that pot from a different plant in your space.

if it came from the canhii seedpod, as polyantha mentioned the pollen parent could be any Paph that was in proximity to the colony (or another canhii or x self). hopefly it will keep growing and someday you'll find out!

I don't think. IMO it is a seedling. It appeared on a tip of a new root.
