The lip curled a bit...I have it in front of the intake vent to keep it a bit cooler. I think that is the reason for the curl

The very dark lip is so contrasting to the rest of the flower... Is that as much as it will open, Ron..? Maybe you can cross it with amazonica to improve the shape...

This is really a pretty flower!! I esp. like the color of the lip, that looks burgundy red to me! The first flower of mine (if the tag is correct! ) had a very bluish coloring and the shape was by far not as good; as a 2nd bloom is developping, I will try to take a better pict. for comparison!! Was your pict. taken while the flower was opening, or do you consider it as compl. open on the photo? Jean

I believe it is fully opened but the lip curled from being in front of the intake vent. Yes, the lip color is a deep burgundy...I had never seen one this color before.

Jean, The blue is the color I normally see my lip is maroon
