Seems like the season is here. :) This is a plant bred by a nurseryman from Thailand, first bloom for me in indoor apartment conditions. This has the classic tall dorsal, pointy pouch, downswept petals and very tall spike. I find callosum to be heat-tolerant and tolerant to bud blast too.





Comparison with a barbatum (right):
 
nice comparison photo - can you show the leaves and a true front on shot at same level, please.

The front shot I took didn't turn out well.. here are the leaves. Callosum on left, barbatum on right. The mottling of these 2 species are highly variable. Usually I see barbatum with faint mottling and callosum with 'marbling' on the leaves.

 
I have a std callosum like yours and the three barbatum have leaves like yours as well. The so-called vini callosum I have are more on the sliver and green combo.
