    Paph. Moorei alba

Hi all, Here’s an interesting primary hybrid to brighten your day: Paph. Moorei alba. Now don’t come after me about the nomenclature issue, but it’s made with ang-thong alba and a green tonsum as the parents. It’s pretty much the longest lasting Paph flower I’ve had bloom (Feb 2nd through May...

An album Brachy x Multifloral backcrossed to Brachy…

Coming up on five months post flasking of this seedpod, Paph. Jennifer Stage frma. alba (godefroyae x philippinense) x leucochilum frma. album. I’m expecting albino flowers from this weird backcross of an intersectional Paph hybrid (Polyantha x Brachypetalum) crossed back to Brachypetalum...

    Cattleya warneri alba ‘Holy Trinity’

In bloom in Brazil are these 3 lovely alba flowers of one of my favourite species. I named it ‘Holy Trinity’ because it has 3 angelic flowers on a tall stem, reminding me of the divinity of Mother Nature.

    Cattleya aclandiae alba ‘Limey’

One of my aclandiae albas in bloom in Brazil now. Fuller shape than normal. And large. Love this color combo. Reminds me of the green sherbet ice cream. Might rename it lol.

    Possibly the only Alba Mexipedium?

A member brought this big plant to our monthly meeting here in Toronto. Not only vigorous with branching spikes and keikis, the flowers showed no hint of pink in the staminode. Perhaps an alba? Wow. I recommend selfing it lol. Plant belonged to C&C Orchids.

    another henry ;-)

This ethereal flower is just opening for me in my grow room. The petals look translucent. It is it's first flower.

    Ludisia discolor alba

The white version of the popular jewel orchid Ludisia. Similar flowers to the normal variety. This genus is the most forgiving and relatively easy to grow. Warm and bright. Grows low light and cool too. In any mix lol. A few color leaf forms exists.

    Paphiopedilum leucochilum album ‘MoonCake’

Acquired from Hanajima Orchids at the Tokyo Dome show in 2020. Had a hard time establishing but finally bloomed on a small growth. Flowers are supposed to be larger at 8-9 cm but pushed out a 6.5 cm one. Will harvest pollen and let plant grow stronger. I named him MoonCake after my favourite...

Paphiopedilum purpuratum x sib (‘Full Wings’ x var. album ‘Albino Beauty’ CBR/AOS) selfed today!

Today was day 3 from opening of this first-bloom seedling from Sam and my first-ever orchid pollination! Here’s hoping for success. Anybody want to give me tips on maturing the pod? Sam will be flasking but he grows in a phenomenally state-of-the-art facility, whereas I am but an...

    Paphiopedilum charlesworthii alba

Blooming earlier ... not sure why but a few cooler growing paph species flowering are early (normally fall to spring aka September to March). Used to be my dream plant through the 90’s lol. Now I have several different cultivars. Dorsal sepal a big small but cute nonetheless. May expand over a...

ISO: Saint Swithin (philippinense alba parent)

Has this cross been made? I haven’t been able to find any for sale. If anyone here has one in their collection they’re willing to share a division of, please reach out. 🙂

Paphiopedilum wolterianum album (syn. appletonianum album)

I originally purchased 5 of these from a German vendor named Hilmar from Redlands last year from his selfing. This is the first to bloom. Second one blasted here (not sure why) and a third one is in spike at Zephyrus. The other two is thinking of budding lol. Colour is apple green with a deep...

    Paphiopedilum jackii ‘Zephyrus Jade’ HCC/AOS

Awarded on March 7th, 2020 with 78 points at the Toronto monthly judging. Described as apple green with NS 10.4 x 9.1 cm. Plant grown and exhibited by Zephyrus Orchids. In 4 inch pot. Not considered the alba form (officially called virescence if true alba) because of the minute dark spots on...

    Paphiopedilum amabile alba (syn: bullenianum)

This one came in bud from Tokyo Dome show. Kinda small and floppy. But rare enough to keep. First bloom seedling from Popow. There’s an unbloomed second seedling that may have better flower in future lol. In a 4 inch or 10 cm pot.

    Cattleya bicolor alba

One (or rather two) of my stowaways from Japan GrandPrix show lol. From Bela Vista Orchids.

Paphiopedilum barbigerum var aureum ('Albino Beauty' x self)

I got this one from Tropical Gardens in Vancouver in bud. What a cutie with small plant structure (leaves less than 10 cm each) with large alba 7-cm flowers (slight damage from transport in check-in luggage). Love the teacup style. Part of my burgeoning alba paphs collection.

Paphiopedilum villosum forma aureum 'Piping Rock' AM/AOS

Earlier this year in spring, I was lucky enough to secure a division of this plant from Glen Decker as I started my goal of collecting alba (or close to) forms of all the Paphs species. Surprisingly it bloomed for me this fall, and garnered an AM of 81 points at the recent October monthly...
