The bud is finally open:

It was sprayed with miticide and survived. Sadly emersonii bud did rot. Malipoense bud is still growing despite miticide and being turned over by my dog.

Nice bell. My I suggest you try to support the flower up a bit and maybe the flower will relax more. It might give it a chance to open even more.

Thanks! I think I photographed it a bit too early (not too patient), it did open some more.
SlipperKing, when you say support the flower, do you mean to stake the spike?

Hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, but yes, Orchideya I would think he means to support the stem. I use sishkabob skews and break them to the proper length.
