The color is pretty close. The stripes aren't black, but they are a very dark brown. They probably look black because there is less light on the dorsal because of it's angle than on the rest of the flower.

There could be something in my water: it's high in calcium and iron. Or rainwater with MSU's purewater formula, depending.
