I have found this by far the easiest barbata species to grow. Grows like a weed.

Beautiful flower and fantastic stem length!!!

strange, I don't have one... so this is going on the wish list for sooner purchase than later.

I don't know why, but I have one that is also one of the most vigorous growing barbata for me. Typically much better than callosum or barbatum for me??

I would be lucky if I had such weed in my collection!! So far mine P. lawrenceanum doesn't grow significantly better than callosum or barbatum. But perhaps I don't grow it in the right way.
Yours is a real eye catcher with this extraordinary long stem. Way to go!.
Best regards from Germany, rudolf

It's all based on a sample of one but my experience is like Rick's. I have found it much easier to grow than callosum which I have really struggled with over the years.

I had never realised how long the spike reached in lawrenceanum until I first flowered it. Probably about double the length of callosum.

I REALLY like this one. It makes me feel like I need one too! I haven't grown this pure species for many years and now, I wonder why not. It's beautiful!
