I am not sure if var. leucochilum is still an officially valid recognition. IMO "leucochilum" of which describes no spots on pouch is simply redundant of godefroyae.
Crossing godefroyae with spotted pouches can give both spotless and spotted offspring. It doesn't make sense when a variety can be produced from crossing of two normal forms. To my layman understanding, a variety should be an evolutionary product from its original form so its genome should be pretty much distinct though similar to its normal form.
Say for example, Paph. jackii is generally considered as a variety of Paph. malipoense (though I don't pretty much agree since they differ a lot from each other), can one produce jackii by crossing malipoense?
