Maybe that's the ticket. Low humidity and plenty of water at the roots. It doesn't have to go seeking water.;)

we may be on to something, I just assumed it was the light but I bet that thing is just too scared to leave the comfort of the pot 'cause it's so dry outside of it. In fact, I need to pack rockwool around the new growths so the roots don't dry up when they emerge and place the pot in an undrained dish where i leave a few mm of water to soak up for a few hours in the morning.
