I don't do anything special with this orchid. It grows in my bdrm in my apt, get some artificial light along with bright sunlight. Potted with lava to the middle and the top half is pure sphagnum. It came with a tiny spike about two months ago and at the same time it grew another psuedobulb, which made the flower develop so much slower. I had another fellow orchid grower have her Coryanthes spike at the same time and her flowers developed a lot faster than mine. Mine only had one flower and then there was a weird growth that looked like another bud that never developed. It smelled like licorice candy with hints of mint. It was great!! My family had a good laugh at it as you guys know what it looks like It only lasted 4 days in pristine condition. The last pic shows it on its way out. It turned shades of red when it started to wither. I recommend this orchid to everyone, it's exciting to grow :)

In my photos, I have it labeled macranthe but its acranthe on its label.

Thank you :) it was a big flower, about the size of my palm. I have something growing under the spike? Probably just a growth but I really want it to be a spike :)

Thank you Rick, I wished they lasted longer too, the fragrance is so interesting and the flower itself is crazy. Thank you Slipperfan :) it was quite a big bloom too.
