A terrestrial orchid from Central Chile growing in Mediterranean conditions.

Each flower is 5 cms across and the plant stands 40 cms high. First flowering for me

Wow where are you located and did you buy it from a nursery.

This is a cool and rare species
 
I live in NW England and I was given the plant some years ago amongst a collection of other ground orchids. I have pollinated it and if it sets seed I am sending it of to be cultured.
 
You have to do it green seeding,
they diont really germinate for us from dry seed.
The problem is you cannot good make the steril.
So would be better to try it from green capsule.

If you have seedlings please think on me....
 
Fantastic plant...I've been wanting to try these for a long time but just can't find them here in the US. Anybody know anyone growing those here or a source for them?

I have been corresponding with Frank Meissner in Germany who has had success with another chloraea species and I am sending the seed ,if it sets,to him
