Here are some overdue pics of my barbigerums this year!! I just love these - fantastic species, and these are very nice clones! Been open for quite awhile now, so figured I'd better take pics while they're still looking fresh!
I hate to choose favorites, but it's working so hard for it - so here is my favorite first 'Fall Festival' And I know, I know, how could I possibly say an unkind word about it, but it initially had 12 buds, but blasted the last 2 to form...I was going to bring it in for consideration for a cultural award before it did that, but decided to pray and keep being nice to it and see what it does in the future!
And now for the group! There is one additional regular color form one blooming, but it's in a bit of a sorry state, so its one bloom didn't make the group photo. I think it's just not as genetically robust a grower/nice a flower form, but I do hope to grow it better in the future before deciding I don't have a place for it. It gets the same care and is right next to the others, but seems to have taken offense to something, so if it snaps out of it, great, if not, the other 3 plants are well above average and growing like 4 plants and then some lol
This is my favorite of the two aureums (3 plants, 2 actual clones, one fell apart while dividing) I call it 'Key Lime Pie' I make key lime pies starting with fresh key limes, no food dye, so they do indeed look just this color with only the fresh squeezed juice to color it, and whipped cream on top
