there's an elm tree out back with lots of aphids and lots of ladybugs.

here's one that appears to have just emerged from the pupal shell:

and here's the weird one. same size as regular ones....

Great!!! These are young but they can already feed on the aphids!!! Nature is so cool!!!!!
 
Did the one in the first photo feed exclusively on the aphids that dine on your alba paphs:D

nice pics. i've been told that the larvae (ones without shell) can eat many more bugs than the adults, and since they can't fly away (yet), they are better for ipm purposes
