Here's Alma Gavaert x Tuxedo Junction x Purple Velvet...the tag has no parentheses, so I don't know which parent is which...got it accidentally in an order for a different paph...it was in bud. Had a 2nd bud, but it blasted. Ordinary, but still nice....Eric

The Orchids of Los Osos website lists (Alma Gavaert (sic) x Tuxedo Junction) x Purple Velvet, for what it is worth. They describe it as a 'Near Primary Hybrid'. Perhaps they keep it close to the primaries, but there are at least 6 generations of breeding behind it. Alma Gevaert x Tuxedo Junction is Ruby Sands BTW.

I do like the color.

I'm not sure that makes any sense, either. Why is Purple Velvet in quotes? Is it a clonal name? A hybrid? Best to go back to the source and ask.

actually on the tag the Purple Velvet is not in quotes.....just on the packing list and on the E-bay listings was it in quotes
