Sophronitis coccinea

Ramon, have you flowered this plant before ???
Reason I ask is a friend of mine had a coccinea with similar but not as good.
It flowered like this on the first flowering and gained great comment. It never flowered as good ever again. He gave me a piece which grew very well and flowered well but flowered only as a good coccinea, never with the shape it had at 1st.
Does anyone have an explaination for this ???
 
In my experience, coccinea can be very variable from blooming to blooming. Much depends on culture and environmental conditions. I have found in many cases that there is improvement of the flower the longer you grow them. I always photograph mine and can then see the difference year over year.
