Paphiopedilum niveum. Not a very good shape...

Now, now, be positive. It's the first bloom in your conditions and will improve. I've had it happen to me and
I bet most growers here too. Be nice and don't cuss it out.
Paphs. are very sensitive and you can't swear at them like you can Catts.
 
That dorsal looks to me like something that will happen again. It's just part of that plant's shape. Maybe that's why the first owner got rid of it? Did you buy it at a meeting or at a show? There's nothing wrong with a Paph that is not show quality, as long as you did not pay a show quality price. If it blooms again with a dorsal like that, take it to a meeting in bloom and sell it or give it to a beginner. They'll be thrilled and love it even with a wonky dorsal. Plus, you will help a fellow orchid grower to be turned onto growing the slippers.
