May I present the long awaited flowering (2.5 years) of Prince Edward of York! The plant itself is about 3 feet across and the spike is about 2 feet high. The first bloom to open on the bottom has petals that are 12 inches.

Sweet! Dee, that is a great photo and a great plant!

I love sanderianum and its hybrid.

Thanks for the picture.

Ooohhhh, that's wonderful Dee!
Maybe my favourite hyrbid! Do you know the parents? I love the petal stance (I tend to like the wider ones like that)!

Thank you!!!

Unfortunately all the tag says is (rothschildianum x sanderianum) I couldn't get over the huge size of the plant itself and it must have about 6 fans. Oh if they all opened up together what a sight that would be!

Well done. I adore sanderianum and it's hybrids. My PEOY has a ways to go but i hope it looks as nice as yours does. Thank you!

Dee,
May I ask where it came from?
I've got a large, multi fan one from Parkside....I wait....

Well, I bought the plant as a seedling (1 fan) from Taylor Orchids in Monroe, MI back in 2003. I do need to contact him and see if he can shed any light on the cross or where he got it from.
