Paph. Kolosand first-bloom seedling

This is a first-bloom seedling Paph. sanderianum x kolopakingii, registered as Paph. Kolosand in 1998. The petals are 13 inches long and seem to want to keep growing longer. My wife, Lydia, says the appearance is almost "snake-like". Since the sanderianum parent produces 5 or so flowers and the kolopakingii produces 14 or so flowers, I'm hoping for many more per stem as this plant matures.

One of my absolute favorite sanderianum hybrids. I love that the petals and pouch are more on the kolo side but the length is still nice.

Very very nice... I like how kolo seems to make the petals fatter.. Normal sand has rather skinny petals, methinks..
