Couldn't resist getting this seedling a couple years back thought I'm not a big mormodes fan - the bright yellow with red spots really piqued my interest. Three spikes this year, one which bloomed and faded before the other two opened. This relative of the catasetums goes dormant for a dry rest in the winter and the flowers have that strong spicy, medicinal fragrance I have found on Cycnodes Wine Delight. The flowers don't last very long, about a week or so, and though I didn't measure them I think they were about 2.5"-3".
