Maxillaria cerifera

I didn't expect this one to bud and bloom so soon, but I got a somewhat dessicated plant of this almost a month ago. I guess it likes its reliable watering. The flower is very tiny, 15mm or so. It's somewhat translucent. I never knew maxillarias were this small.

It's funny, in my collection I have these phrags and paphs w/ 24"+ leaves and then some of teeny tiny pleuros.

I agree it is very cute. I love both big plants and small, but these days I prefer smaller stuff since I have so little space to grow things.

Is the plant small, or just the flower? Some Maxes are large plants with very small flowers.

I'll definately trade away pieces of it in the future. I got it unestablished and dehydrated, last month. It will take a while before it looks good enough to part out.
