January species

It's been a record cold winter on Vancouver Island so having some Paph. species to enjoy in my greenhouse oasis is a real treat. Left to right - Paphiopdilum tonsum, primulinum var. purpurascens and Paphiopedilum villosum var. boxallii atratum

I like them all. The var. purpurascens is the nicest one I've seen. I've only ever seen pictures but they always look so washed out.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Yes, I'm on the pacific side...
The boxi came from Hengduan in China, they did their first Canada tour in the fall and I got it from them.
The primulinum is a first bloom from Hung Sheng and the plant and spike had so much pigment which was a hint the flower would have nice color... I am very happy with the outcome!

I'm a boxi fan too, but all are exceptionally nice. It's been a very
wet, gloomy winter here in KY and I often think my greenhouse keeps
me sane.

Lower temps triggers the plant to produce anthocyanin red/purple color pigment
