I think Roth has his point in terms of his experience. To my knowledge, most albino species come from many crosses of plenty of different albinos through time. These clones were artificially selected in nurseries, with better forms, shape and possibly faster growth rate and healthier. Those inferior would be selected out. So, those wild albinos are clearly rarer these days. So, I still stick to the stance that WILD albino forms are in general weaker than the originals. Harold Koopowitz (2008) also agreed this fact. Many different orchid growers who wrote orchid books supported the fact as well, and even down to functional plant biology concepts. With these in mind, I prefer a generalized conclusion rather than just a few examples, no offense.

I'm pretty glad that Roth gave quite a lot of breeding preference in crossing species. Each species has its role to play.

In response to dode, whether or not it is still a fact that album x album do not 100% produce albino offspring, and this is academically explainable based on GENETIC level based on my previous replies. :D

Moccha, I had made a cross of my two album but all the offspring is normal leaves. Genetic is an amazing things to me!

Frank Smith blooms easily the micranthum albums, but not the normal ones. The same applies for wardii album, they bloom even in Bangkok where the normal ones do not. It is suspected that the red on the leaves 'warms up' the leaves...

Roth , you wrote a lot of valuable things to me and I had printed this thread for my reference!
Would you mind to have a look of the below link of my niveum album? This is a collecting paph from Thailand. Do you think this is a niveum album?
Thanks!
