Helenae x Olympian Paradise in the morning light

Finally in bloom!!

I bought a seedling from Cloud's Orchids about three years ago.
According to the tag, it was potted up in the fall of 2011.
So it took a while.

The flower is very yellow in person, just like a ripe lemon, and I couldn't capture that color in the photos. It is a little over 8cm from the top to the bottom of the flower.

The leaf span is about 9inch, but the leaves are narrow like helenae.
There is a new growth next to it with three leaves. Finally speeding up a little, I guess.

Hopefully the possible gov't shutdown doesn't impact your plans; my guess is plan B is to hold PF at Behnke's as in the past when the Arboretum was under renovation.

I hope it lives on.

I once bought a nice In-Charm Topaz in bloom. The plant obviously came with problems as the plant quickly died shortly after purchase.
There basically were no live roots in the pot.
