This is the only picture I could find of the Via Avila Beach flower. Could charlesworthii alter the shape THAT much? The colors certainly match well enough.

P.charlesworthii is very dominant. I think it does tend to open up the flower shapes when it is crossed with complex hybrids. It also reduces size and is being used to make miniature complex paphs. This grex (charlesworthii x Via Avila Beach) was made by Norris Powell, probably with the idea of breeding compacts or miniatures. There is a lot of variability in the plants, some flowers are more open and smaller than others. I wonder what species are in the background of Via Avila Beach?

Here are two more from the same grex as your plant.

It is a wonder any two clones look similar with all that possible genetic material.

But look at all that insigne and spicerianum. That HAS to have a huge influence on things, such as the narrowed neck on the dorsal that Matt was commenting on.
