Pictures taken less than three weeks apart. Didn't think they could spike this quickly.

Sounds like the complete opposite of malipoense, a species whose spike development is sometimes used to measure the time between geologic eras (i.e. the Carboniferous period was approximately 8.7 malipoenses ago).

interesting. Mine has been in the bud formation for a week or two. So does it pop up fast but just sets for a long period before opening?
