Another cattleya that is loving life in the grow room. This clone had not flowered for at least a couple of years but now, with the second growth in the new room, we have two large growths each with flowers or buds.

They’re large flowers with a good scent and nice brush marks on the petals. The plant is probably not full size yet so may be able to hold more than two flowers.
It’s a controversial clone as it could well be a cross with warscewiczii, not the pure species. Certainly the flowers appear intermediate in appearance bewteen the two species. The diagnostic horns on the sides of the column are small and not the size of a pure lueddemanniana.
Anyway, whatever its origins, it’s a nice thing which I’m happy to give room to.
