This is one of my favorites for practical jokes. "Oh man, look at how beautiful that orchid is", then I pretend to take a big whiff, "WOW. The fragrance is breathtaking, you've got to smell it".
 
Omg, I cannot get the smell out of my nasal passages. I know it was a gift but I think it is going to have to go. The hotter it gets here, the stinkier it gets.
 
They don't all smell, I have one clone which is completely odourless. I have considered selfing it in the hope that it carries that trait through to its progeny.
 
Well I couldn't take the smell. I traded it for a 6 growth Phrag schlimii. The guy who traded has a limited sense of smell.
 
If you think that one is bad try stapelia gigantea (a non-orchid) accurately nicknamed the "carrion plant". The flowers are spectacular but either the plant has to go outside or the flower has to be removed and tossed outside.
