Obviously not as nice as Leo's but I'm really happy to have flowered this one. This is a first time bloomer and the longer petals are about 20-21". One petal on the second flower got stuck and I broke about an 1" off trying to free it which has stunted that petal. But it is fun to think that you have a flower with about a 100cm NS when most of your other plants are around a 10 cm NS:D This plant has been grown on a windowsill (the PNW is typically higher humidity) and it seems to like a wetter medium. Next time (it'll be a few years) I'll pay closer attention to keeping it wet like Leo suggests during flowering and see if the petals are even longer.

Enjoy.

I'd be pretty happy with that one. Nice colour. I expect with even higher humidity you would get petal lengths similar to Leo.

Any sanderianum is good to have. This one is lovely...I'd give it space in my grow room!:drool::drool:

Very well done! Great color, presentation and the dorsal has got good wide to it. An older plant may come though with more flowers and longer petals.

Thanks. I've had this plant for probably two years. I purchased it from Dean, as a NBS plant, I think he had gotten a group of them from a someone in Hawaii. It took a little bit to "acclimate" to my conditions but since then its been a slow, steady grower. I'm sure if my conditions were warmer it would grow faster. I can't wait till next time...in a couple years.
