I have been lurking a bit here, but have decided to join. I have little time for the net, but I do botanical research in this country. I have been here 7 years.
There are a number of Phrgs here, many in the La Fortuna area at 1200 - 2000M altitude, though I have longifolium on my balcony here at David, elv. 30M.
I find that the natural conditions are almost impossible to duplicate, but many are easy enough to grow in cool conditions.
Anyhow, I now, at 74 years, have time to wander for hours in the rain forests. I´m "retired" and write books, having more than 150 titles published at this time.
