I posted this plant's first spike a few months back. After it finished blooming, I divided it and repotted. A short time later, one of the divisions started a spike. I really like the dark colors and proportionally large flowers compared to the leaf span. Only seems to produce 2 flowers per spike, but I'll take it.

It is nice. You may get more flowers if you avoid dividing in future repottings.

I agree and I hope so. When I repotted it, I actually wasn't planning to divide it, but after I got it out of the old mix, the two pieces fell apart. So, technically it divided itself. The only thing that had been holding them together was the remains of an old, dead growth that was just a dried up husk.
