Dear Slipperfriends,
2 weeks ago I had the possibility to visit the habitat of Selenipedium aequinoctiale in Ecuador. Here some pictures of the habitat.

The pictures of the flower always with my hand, that you can imagine the dimensions.

Really a wonderful species. Beside we found also some other orchidspecies

Thanks for sharing the pictures! The Selenipedium is a beauty! :clap: Too bad it is so hard to grow in cultivation
 
It's really nice to see this in situ! This species is actually not bad looking. Up to now, I thought all Selenipediums were completely ugly. Thanks very much for posting these photos, Olaf!
 
I shots Olaf. Looks like a "full head" of seed capsules on the Selenipedium in one of the PICs. As all of said...thanks
