roth: how long from sheath to bloom?

I will say it takes about 2 months... but it could depend on conditions. =)

the sheath just started to poke out...
i think the cross is Paph. rothschildianum 'Janet' FCC/AOS X Paph. rothschildianum 'Chester Hills' AM/AOS

This is an odd time of year for a roth to be thinking about blooming though.

Normally you won't see sheaths till after December.

Sometimes I get sheaths forming around the end of July start of August. These usually bloom around Christmas. Sometimes the ones that show up this early never develop (for me at least).

But you are right. Most of the time, the sheaths do not appear until after December.

It also seems for me that I have a higher rate of blasting for out of season blooming. (Not to be discouraging Likepaphs). But I've only bloomed a roth once. The bracts on roths are HUGE. You'll freak out when you see them.
