A glorious soft peachy pink original division from Waldor that has a NS of 16 cm. Second bloom for me, last was Oct. an added bonus is its intoxicating, lovely strong fragrance! This is actually a larger NS than the awarded flower which overlapped a bit, however the petal width, length and lip on this one are slightly smaller. 22835013-0DCC-4164-8144-DB8A0EF451FA.jpeg3BEDA9EF-C464-4545-840D-B878F04DA7CA.jpeg0E16A9C6-8767-428F-A38C-3CF647AC4583.jpeg

Both are wonderful, and certainly worth growing in my opinion. My ‘Serendipity’ is in sheath, and I’m not-so-patiently waiting for buds to develop. Anecdotally, this is one of those plants that has been cloned so many times, it’s amazing the difference an original division or F1meristem can make in the flower quality.

My understanding is that ‘Southern Cross’ actually came out as a cloning mutation in a meristem run of ‘Serendipity’ performed by Carter and Holmes a number of years ago. It’s recognized and been awarded as a distinct individual since it’s different enough from ‘Serendipity’.

Congrats on acquiring and blooming both!
