quick trip to remsen bog

last week I stopped by remsen bog for a few minutes to see how the flowers were and how bad the trampling damage was from the usual father's day visitors. despite many things getting knocked over each year, the next everything seems to recover very well

You find such amazing things that I never knew were in the woods and bogs/ fields of the north east. Makes me want to get out and explore more. I wish I knew were to go to see wild orchids in Ohio.

There are ways to find them; usually involving USDA soil mapping and locating water sources.

thanks! this rich fen is actually on a plot of land only about a 1/4 acre, and has I think seven different orchids on it through the year
