Hi all, I have a Phrag Franz Glanz, currently in bloom (there is a recent thread in photos section on this. My first rebloom of a Phrag (in a year of keeping them)).

Its newer growths are starting above the level of the growing medium (fir bark). Can they do OK like this? There's definitely no way to keep them wet this way. I grow in humidity trays with the grates removed, so they are submersed 2.5 inches deep in water.

Or - do I need to repot? I repotted a year ago, so my preference is to wait.

Do you have sphagnum? Wrap/ or build a mound of it around the aerial roots and keep them moist. When enough roots have grown you can remove and replant that growth.

Clear pots for Phrags?

lots of results too if you search for climbing phrag

Thanks! I may repot when the bloom is done AND make sure all my phrags are in deeper pots

What do you all think about clear pots for Phrags? Necessary? Definitely advantageous? or no proven difference from opaque pots.

I still wonder if that has anything to do with this one Franz Glanz blooming.
