This is a Paph. sukhakulii that I bought last spring at an orchid show. At the time, it was a first-bloom seedling, and the pouch and petals were misformed. But I liked the spotting, and I thought it had potential if grown on for a second bloom. This blooming proved I was right. Flower size is improved too, at a little over five inches across the petals. Now all I need to do is put about five flowers on it and take it to judging.

Very nice, Ed! Beautiful bloom and photo.

Do you have a picture of the first flower by any chance? It would be good to see how much the flowers can improve as the plant matures :)

This is a beauty! I'm a huge fan of said species...I've painted it more than any other paph because of the color combination and dynamic shape. Yours is a great example of why.

Thats a really good P. sukhakulii and you did right to grow it on. Everyone deserves a second chance!
Best regards from germany. rudolf
