Ok so a few weeks ago I posted my P. purpuratum with one big flower and a second flower coming from the same fan (experienced growers say it’s a branched inflorescence down in the fan). Well, here is that flower, now open. What is going on here????? Original flower posted for reference. ‍♂️

The plant looks healthy. Nip it and try again.
Aw it’s always been a pretty plant. I love looking at it. Just mystified and flummoxed by the weirdness. It’s been in my care for about 2 years. I think this is first bloom. Compared to most in here, my 70-odd plants are few. How did I end up producing this weirdo? Lol. I won’t probably cut it though. I’ll just enjoy its ride. Tempted to self it just to see what happens. I’m just curious if anyone can point to a cause? Or a cure? Onward...thank you!

I like purpuratum very much, unfortunateley mine died on some root problems.
