It smells like butter!

It grew two buds, but the first one opened and I think because of the butter smelling, it attracted some insect that damaged the lip and after about two weeks it withered. But the second bud remained and is now in its splendor. FS 2".

I think it is a type form, normal, not so rounded and full, but species-like and I love it. Very cute.

Hope you like it too.

Mario

Beautiful!
I lost one of mine a few days after I got it by leaf rot over night... probably too much water after repotting.

This is a really nice one, Mario.

I sniffed at mine which is flowering at the moment, too. I detected a very faint scent but I can't say whether it is like butter/mante ?

Oh, yes... to me it smells like butter. Even more, I think due smelling, the second flower was bitten by an insect :(

It bloomed again but now with two buds in one spike. I think that this species feels very comfortable with the Xalapa climate. It grows well and very reliable on the windowsill, completing its growing cycle on time... I enjoy taking care of this plant and indeed... still I smell a butter fragrance!😁

Indeed it's a nice concolor.
Back in 1992 I was in Veracruz, Cordoba, Fortin de las Flores and the beautiful Orizaba volcano.
Many orchids up there and such a lush and green forest.

Oh yes, this area (Xalapa, Fortín de las Flores, Córdoba and Orizaba) has a wonderful climate for orchids and plants in general. And I suppose that the water is great (maybe Ph 7?) so is a plus...
