I use a canon 5D with a macro lens 100mm from canon also.
It's a quite professional equipment!
But I can tell you that it's not the most important to make good picture. The hardest is to play with lighting. I used to make poor quality picture with the same camera! I took advices from Robert (Drorchid) and tried to do the same!
