Cross is Gantling x Bromohur, registered in 1956. This cultivar was awarded in 1968. Although, Sunol has only been registered as a parent in 16 crosses, two of its F1 generation Paph Marion Fischer (1972) and Paph Prime Time (1976) have been and are still being used for breeding as have subsequent generations.

For me, this is a first bloom on a single growth division. I suspect the form will improve as the plant gets bigger.

Ross,
It appears to have great coloring and for a Paph in '56' it probably was fantastic for shape and size at that time. Do you have plans to carry on with more breeding with this clone?

No plans at the present. I'll probably pull the pollen and save it in case some idea sneaks up and bites me in the @$$.:poke:

What about with americium to increase colour intensity of the complex, or fill out the form of the americium?

Or with concolor to improve the compact form of the flower?

Just curious... How would such a cross turn out? Experts?

Lovely flower just as it is IMHO.
