This is a paph bruno I had in bloom 2013 got from terry root, compare

they look the same???

The only differences I can make out are the Bruno dorsal is all white, no raspberry blush and the lateral sepals are streaky heavy mahogany rather than another raspberry or so blush. Of course these are just two flowers ......

Close, not the same. Paph Bruno is Leeanum (insigne x spicerianum) x spicerianum. Once it was made you can almost never trust round spicers to be true.

Yes, probably is. SO many breeders just outcross and then cross back to get better flowers.
