Thanks all - yes, that is a violascens blooming behind it. Eric, that's what I do to get the photos up - I'm really just apologising for not having a proper camera and not offering the high standard of shots that many (indeed most) do here regularly.

There is nothing wrong with using the iPhone camera. The trick is to use some kind of neutral, plain background behind the flower, and then hold the camera steady. Also, use the HDR option. It does a better job with the highlight area.
