No, I don't think its a problem BUT I would like to see it flower again without the split. Reason, I have a Paph thats a very nice bright red I flowered as a seedling with a split synsepal that I considered a potential breeder, its flowered 4 times now with the split synsepal. Its now about to be disposed of because with that regularity of splitting it must be a genetic flaw and could pass it on to its progeny.
From a judging point of view, the flower could not be judged IMO as by Paph standards its deformed, even though it is probably what Paph flowers were like eons ago.

Thanks for the compliment, but this is not my cross. The cross was made by Wharton Sinkler. He graciously gave me permission to name it. The plant is growing in a three inch round pot.
