This one has been around here for awhile.I got it for a buck when a local nursery was going out of business.It was my second Orchid way back in 2003.I havent let it out grow the 4 1/2'' pot,so everyone in the neighborhood has/had a piece of this.I could imagine the beast I would have on my hands if I let this thing keep doubling in size each year.I didnt measure how tall the spike is,but I would say its 4 1/2' tall.

I tried finding one of these recently, and all I could find was little plugs that had to be ordered from Hawaii. I admit, my orchid searching skills aren't what they used to be, but isn't this still a commonly sold beginner plant?

Yours looks great, and I bet the scent is even better.

As far as I know.I know they have them at a local nursery here in Baltimore,and I seen them at Parkside when I was there a few months ago.I never look at the Orchids at Home Depot,etc..
 
If the neighbors dont want them,I toss the extra pieces in the trash.
