I have many Maxxies in my collection but this is the only hybrid that I have. This is a first bloom and I am pleased. It is pulla X striata.
The flower is over 3" wide
My only Max hybrid

That is WILD! I almost thought it was an intergeneric cross made w/ a bulbo!

No I bought this from a Hawaiian vendor in 2005. I don't see many Maxillaria hybrids around. I purchased a striata last year. It is a very colorful species!!Greenpaph said:

Ron is right, you don't see many Maxillaria hybrids. Ecuagenera has a bunch in the works, mostly becasue of the popularity of this hybrid. It really captures the good qualities of both parents.
I think there is lots of potential for hybrids in the Maxillaria genus. They are easy to grow and there is a huge variety of flower shapes and colours.
