Hi everyone.
I havent posted here since my introduction post but have been reading ALOT! Thought I would show my setup and the rewards. I have been in this house with an 'orchid room' for 11 months now, before most were outside on a 3rd floor apartment covered patio.
My large cymbidiums, zygos and a few catts are outside.
All inside under botanicalleds, temps low high 70s low 80s days and low 70s high 60s at night with humidity around 50%

How long have you been growing orchids? Just curious.
Seems like everything is doing well. It is quite a luxury to be able to have a climate where you can split your collection, have some in and some out.
I am not able to do that where I live. I have a “Snow Bird” collection. Inside from October to mid May then outside from mid-May until some points in October.
It seems like you grow several different genera.
Congratulations and don’t be such a stranger! 👍🤪

Thanks. I've been trying not to kill orchids for probably 15 years and I still do but the mortality rate has dropped considerably! I just wish I could add outside cover from the evermoving sun and would have ALOT more outside!
Yes I DO have a plethera of genera, zygos, paphs, phrags, oncidium, catts, phals (reg and novelty), angraecum, gramms(4). Im sure I am missing someone...lol
Pic is my Zygo that just opened this morning!!

Nice setup! How are you watering? I noticed you don't have a large tray to catch and drain water. They make 2x4' trays that fit nicely on those shelves. Might be helpful.

I was just expanding my setup in the garage. Trying to have some automatic irrigation. Still a work in progress.
