Hey All,
Just curious about what you would pick as your top 10 or so phrags.
And why it makes the list if you are willing!
Just to make it fun, assume cost is not an object.
Thanks,
Jim

Due to difficulty in culture:
Multigrowth besseae flavum
Multigrowth Yakima River flavum

Due to extreme price:
St. Ouen 'Ice'

Due to lack of availablity:
Mature kovachii
manzurii
andreetae
Pk x Hanne Popow
Acker's Sweetheart
Multigrowth pearcei

Okay, here goes:

1. fischeri (because they are small and pretty)
2. kovachii (a good strong seedling, not a tiny frail one like the one I killed)
3. andreettae (because of the unique shape and light color)
4. schlimii f. albiflorum (because it is rare and WHITE)
5. besseae (can you believe I don't have one?)
6. besseae flavum (I like this color form)
7. Pink Panther (because it is small and pretty, again)
8. April Fool (I love the color)
9. Glass Slipper (Rare, and very nice)
10. Suzanne Decker (I saw this in bloom a while ago and it was amazing)

I stick pretty much to species, so 10+ covers almost all of them:wink:

But the long petaled species are at the top of my list, and the darker the color the better.

Popowii is probably my favorite, but I've killed 3 over the years (Erwinia), so I'm laying low right now.

Sure I'll take a mature plants of kovachii & any of it's hybrids!
I hope I don't have to explain why!

Hello. Is this list about the Phrags. I wish to own, or about my top
Phrags. whether or not I already have them?

Just your all time favorites weather or not you own them does not matter.
Jim

grande
caudatum
pearcei
boisserianum
Pk
demetria-need
bessea flavum-need
longifolium
bessea-need
J. Fischer-need
The reason I collect these plants is the unique flowers that provide the
eye candy. Color, shape, and texture equates to a visual lubricate.

I would love to own them all but manzurii and kovachii are on my list as I believe they are the only two I can grow in my conditions.

kovachii - =) =)
popowii (good dark color form)
Fire Storm (Ruby Slipper x besseae) - heard easier to bloom than RS
ficherii - love the dark color and shape
Don Wimber - repot the plant and it goes down hill =(
delessandroi - good form
Red Lighting
Schlimii 'Wilcox' - can you believe i don't have this plant?
caudatum
klozenum

Being new I can't sayI know enough of them by heart to list 10. I am working on this problem though. My list would have to include what I call the more exotic ones, with the longer petals. also like the Bassaes. So top 10.....Ones I can grow!!!!!
